Overview: Lung cancer starts when abnormal cells in the lungs grow and multiply in an uncontrolled manner. It is the fifth most prevalent cancer in Australia but has the lowest survival rates among the top five cancers. It is a misconception that lung cancer only affects smokers; in fact, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 10 men diagnosed have no smoking history.
Urgent Referrals: Dr. Feng prioritises referrals for suspected lung cancer, typically reviewing them within 2 weeks.
