Overview: Asthma is a condition of the airways (breathing tubes) of the lungs, characterised by inflammation and swelling when exposed to certain triggers. Common symptoms include cough, chest-tightness, wheeze and/or breathlessness.
Prevalence: Asthma is particularly common in Southern Tasmania, which has the highest incidence of Asthma in Australia, affecting ~15% of the population.
